Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare 3

Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare 3

Jul 29, 2011

This holiday season is stacking up to be a great one for FPS lovers.  Dice and EA are releasing the next installment of their beloved Battlefield series. Dice says that it is the continuation of Battlefield 2, not Bad Company 2.  They have also announced that some old favorite maps from Battlefield 2 will be completely redone and implemented into Battlefield 3 for epic nostalgic battles.  Battlefield 3 will feature Frostbite 2.0 which offers great destructible possibilities like taking down buildings, trees, lamp posts, cars and whatever else you’d like. Dice has also implemented 64 player battles online, but only for the PC. They recently have stated that the consoles will only have 24 player battles due to hardware restrictions.

On the other hand, Modern Warfare 3 is also coming back around this November for another swing at hardcore Call of Duty lovers.  A redone campaign, new multi-player features and polished graphics should offer just enough for players to hop back onto the Call of Duty wagon and dish out another $60 for what honestly, is just the same game re-skinned over and over for the past few years.  Infinity Ward should just charge a yearly fee, instead of making Call of Duty lovers get off their couch and drive all the way to GameStop to pick up another Call of Duty game.  All jokes aside, the game does look promising. While not much has been released compared to Battlefield 3 in terms of media, gamers are still hopeful that the game will deliver that fresh breath of air.
